Weesen is located on the western side of Lake Walen, directly on the Linth Canal. Due to its protected location, Mediterranean plants such as palms, lemon trees and figs thrive here. The small historic town offers sights such as the Heiligkreuzkirche (Church of the Holy Cross) from the 15th century or the Dominican convent, which has existed since the 9th century. Even the remains of a late Roman fort are still there. Weesen is easily accessible by train and Walensee shipping.
