The region around Lake Lucerne has a lot to offer. On this tour you will climb the mighty Rigi massif and then walk through the cozy old town of Lucerne.
In Zurich you will board a comfortable coach and be taken to the small village of Weggis, located directly at the Lake of Lucerne. You will cross the Albis Pass and have the opportunity to one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland.
Here your guide will leave you with tickets to explore Rigi. Take the cable car from Weggis to Rigi Kaltbad over a magical alpine landscape (replaced by cog railroad during maintenance works in April/November). For the next leg, you'll transfer to Europe's first mountain railroad, the Rigibahn. Already on the ride you will see the fairy-tale splendor of the surrounding mountains, lakes and valleys. Once you reach the top, you won't be able to stop marveling.
You can enjoy a hearty meal at a restaurant either at the top or in Rigi Kaltbad. Enjoy the atmosphere and the view on Rigi, the queen of the mountains. In the afternoon, the coghweel train will take you back down to Vitznau. From there you take the boat for about an hour across Lake Lucerne to Lucerne.
You leave the ship and have time to discover the city of Lucerne on your own. The beautiful old town offers, in addition to winding streets and cozy squares, a wealth of sights such as the Chapel Bridge or the Lion Monument.
In the late afternoon, the tour guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point in Lucerne to start the return journey to Zurich. In the comfortable bus you can review the many different impressions of this eventful day and enjoy the view one last time.
