The Simplon plateau, situated at 2000 m.a.s.l., is located in the canton of Valais just above the municipality of Brig. It connects the Swiss Rhone Valley with the Italian Val d'Ossola
This one-day transition course is perfect for you if you already have experience kitesurfing on the water. An experienced instructor will teach you the differences and show you how to really get going with snowkiting.
You can choose between skiing and snowboarding and learn everything from the perfect take-off, to different flight directions, to safe landings. The Simplon plateau offers the perfect conditions for kiting. So nothing stands in the way of your snowkite adventure.
You can expect a 3 to 4 hour transition course where you will learn how to master snowkiting on skis or snowboard!
Meeting point: Swiss Snowkiting School Simplon
You will meet your kite instructor and other course participants at the Snowkiting School in Simplon.
Preparation: Bring your skis or snowboard
Skis or snowboard are not included in the course. Please remember to bring your own skis or snowboard.
Activity: Snowkiting
The course lasts between 3 and 4 hours and brings you to SST level 3C. You will learn:
- how to start snowkiting on skis or snowboard
- how to judge the wind correctly
- different flight maneuvers
- speed control
- how to keep a correct body posture and much more.
Practical information:
- If you arrive by car, winter tires are required
- Wind conditions: for snowkiting 6-7 knots is ideal
- Snow conditions: for beginners not too much fresh snow is perfect.
