Lucerne - Interlaken Express train ticket and optional seat reservation

The Golden Pass panoramic train is one of Switzerland's famous panoramic trains. It runs between Lucerne and Montreux. With this ticket, you can travel either from Lucerne or from Interlaken Ost and thus cover part of this scenic route.

Coming from Lucerne, the journey first takes you along Lake Lucerne. It then climbs up to Lake Sarnen and Lake Lungern. From there, the train climbs steadily up to the Brünig Pass, which lies at 1008 m above sea level. From here, the journey descends again and offers you a wonderful panorama of the Bernese Alps as you travel to Brienz. After a short stopover in Brienz, the train winds its way along the turquoise-blue Lake Brienz to Interlaken Ost for the final stage. If you are coming from Interlaken Ost, the order of these places you pass is exactly the opposite.

Between Brienz and Interlaken, you can see the Grandhotel Giessbach on the other side of the lake. Here, the Giessbach Falls cascade down the mountain into Lake Brienz over 14 cascades. If you are planning a longer stopover in Interlaken, we recommend you visit this beautiful place.
