Därstetten lies at 762 m above sea level in the Alps south of the Gantrisch in the Bernese Oberland. The Stockhorn is located on its eastern municipal boundary. The Simme River flows through Därstetten and later flows into Lake Thun. This village with almost 900 inhabitants is located approximately halfway between Spiez and Zweisimmen. Worth seeing in Därstetten are the ruins of the Weissenburg baths and the castle. The Romanesque church served as a monastery church in the 13th century. Some wall paintings are still preserved from that time. From Därstetten you can go on an exciting rafting tour in the river Simme.
