Bernina Express Ticket

This ticket takes you on a wonderful train journey along the Bernina Line. You can choose whether you travel on the Bernina Express panoramic train (between Chur or St. Moritz and Tirano) or whether you use the "normal" regional trains of the Rhaetian Railway.

The train reaches its highest point on the Bernina Pass in Ospizio Bernina (2253 m above sea level). It is the highest station on the Rhaetian Railway. On this section of the Bernina Railway, you also travel over UNESCO World Heritage buildings. It is considered a cross-border, joint Swiss-Italian World Heritage Site.

You do not need a seat reservation for the regional trains of the Rhaetian Railway and can therefore get off as often as you like en route. However, if you want to travel on the Bernina Express panoramic trains, you need a reservation and should not get off en route.

• RhB trains and buses increasingly have low-floor entrances (marked NF in the timetable).
• The SBB Callcenter Handicap organizes assistance for RhB when changing trains where platforms have not yet been raised and floors have not yet been adjusted. It helps you to prepare for barrier-free travel or if you need help en route.

• Small dogs up to 30 cm are free of charge if they remain in a transport container for the entire journey. This must be pushed under your seat.
• Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height require a valid dog ticket: half the price of 2nd class or the minimum fare (Dog Day Pass, Dog Pass). They must sit under the seat so that the passageway is not blocked for other passengers.

Did you know that there is a panoramic bus between Tirano and Lugano? It takes you through the Italian Valtellina with its valleys. You will also pass by Lake Como. If you would like to extend your Bernina Express journey and plan it from or to Lugano, you will also need a ticket and a seat reservation for the Bernina Express bus.
