Avegno is located in the lower Maggia Valley. It is located only 8 km from Locarno at the foot of the Pizzo di Trosa (1866 m above sea level). The village was founded in the 16th century and is known for its picturesque stone houses and romantic location on the Maggia River. Maggia Valley Val Grande Canyoning

Duration: 4:30 hours

After a 50-minute hike, you reach the val Grande gorge in the Maggia Valley. Canyoning here is suitable for beginners and advanced canyoners alike. You can try out jumps and slides up to 10 m and abseiling up to 30 m. Afterwards there is an aperitif.
