Avalanche course one day with guided tour at Sellamatt

The course will take place near the mountain hotel Sellamatt. After your individual arrival you will meet your instructor and the rest of the participants there. At 09:00 o'clock the course starts.

In the morning you will complete the theoretical part of the course. This includes first a level assessment and then the theory of dealing with avalanches. In the afternoon you will go on a ski/snowshoe tour through the fresh powder snow of the region. On this tour you can directly apply everything you learned in the morning

The course ends after about 8 hours in the late afternoon back at the mountain hotel Sellamatt

Practical information:

In the village of Alt St. Johann there is a unique museum about everything that has to do with sound. In the experience house you can try yourself on various exhibits. In addition, the region is home to the Klangweg. A hiking trail with many different exhibits that have to do with sounds

Afternoon - application tour according to conditions with emphasis on:

• group check
• Tactical decisions in the terrain
• Recognizing and assessing typical avalanche situations
• Recognize risk reducing factors
• Route selection

• Prerequisites: Safe skiing/snowboarding on red slopes, fitness for 400 meters of ascent
